You decide your attitude
Have you ever heard the phrase "you are who you surround yourself with"? If this is true, then surround yourself with those who positively influence your life. If those around you are pessimistic, self-centered, and stressed out... this could rub off on you.
During the school year, I have many heart-to-heart talks with my kids that only THEY decide their own attitude. Only they decide if someone's words will affect them or not. Only they decide if they will work hard that day in class or not. Only they decide if they will start off the day with a positive outlook or a negative one. Yet, if they surround themselves with other positive and drama-free kids, this could only help them!
As adults, the same rule applies. I want to be inspired. I want to be motivated. I want to be successful and happy and excited and generous and creative.... how can I make this happen if I surround myself with negative, closed people?
Beyond that, I want to BE the person that motivates and inspires others. While I thrive on optimism, laughter is my world, and I tend to only focus on what I can control, I believe that I still can grow in new ways to inspire others and positively affect those around me. How about you?
